Time for a Test
No need to call in sick, the test isn’t for you. It’s lawn soil testing.
Lawn care specialists will insert a meter into your soil to check the pH level. You might need lawn soil amendments.
If your lawn soil pH is too low, it’s time for lime, a soil amendment made from ground limestone rock, making your soil less acidic and more alkaline.
Or, if your lawn soil pH is too high, your lawn might need gypsum, a mineral that contains hydrated calcium sulfate.
The goal? The pH midpoint — neither acidic nor alkaline. That’s where your grass really thrives.
